Sagar Chhetri Co-Founder and CEO, Saubhagya Group

Why the work moved from agency delivery to institution building

The shift from agency execution to institution building: how focus changed from one-off clients to durable multi-venture growth.

Stepping back from a pure agency identity was not an ending — it was a shift toward building a longer-term group of companies.

The WoM Chapter: 2018-2024

WoM Marketing was my baby. I built it from nothing into one of Nepal's most results-driven performance marketing agencies.

The most useful evidence is not one aggregate number. It is the accumulated experience of campaigns, clients, teams and operating lessons that informed the next chapter.

So why step back from something so successful?

The Realization

Around 2023, I had an epiphany: I was building a job, not an empire.

WoM was doing great, but it was a services business. It scaled linearly — more clients meant more work meant more team members.

I wanted something different. Something that could compound. Something that could create generational impact.

The Transition

I didn't "leave" WoM. What changed was my role and where I focused my time:

  • I transitioned from CEO to Co-Founder & strategic advisor
  • Built a leadership team to run day-to-day operations
  • Created capacity for new ventures and institution building

This allowed me to focus on building Saubhagya Group — a multi-venture institution with shared capability across different industries.

Why a Group Structure?

Single businesses are risky. Markets change. Competitors emerge. Regulations shift.

A diversified group can:

  • Weather industry-specific downturns
  • Share resources across companies
  • Create synergies between businesses
  • Build multiple income streams

The Companies Under Saubhagya Group

  1. Brand Bird (formerly 101 InfoTech) — Digital marketing agency
  2. Saubhagya Ghar — Home renovation & interiors
  3. Saubhagya Construction — Construction services
  4. Your Hostel 2.0 — Modern hospitality
  5. Nova Production — Media & production house
  6. SSIT Institute — Digital marketing education

What's Different Now

Today, I spend my time on:

  • Strategic vision for the group
  • Key partnerships and relationships
  • Coaching and developing leaders
  • New business opportunities

I'm no longer the one doing the work. I'm the one building the team that does the work.

The Lesson

There's nothing wrong with running a successful agency forever. But for me, I knew I was capable of more.

The transition was scary. It meant letting go of control. It meant trusting others.

But it was the best decision I ever made.

What's Your Next Chapter?

If you're a business owner feeling stuck, maybe it's time to think bigger.

Not everyone needs to build a conglomerate. But everyone should ask: Am I building something that will last?

If you want to discuss your vision, let's connect.
